Privacy Policy

Thuca Words is an educational app designed for children. This document explains, in plain language, what we do — and what we do not do — with your data.

Summary

  • We show no advertising. None, at any time.
  • We use no analytics or advertising trackers. No social SDKs, no pixels, no behavioral profiling.
  • The games, words, and audio all work offline. Nothing about how you use the app is collected.
  • If you buy the premium version, the purchase itself and the check that keeps it unlocked involve a small amount of technical data — see “Premium purchases” below. This only happens if you choose to buy.

Data the app stores on your device

The app saves locally on the device and only on the device:

  • The chosen app language and content language.
  • Whether ambient music is on or off.

This data never leaves the device. It is kept by the operating system like any other app preference. Uninstalling the app removes it.

Premium purchases

If you (or your child’s parent/guardian) choose to buy the premium version:

  • Payment is handled entirely by Google Play Billing (and, once available, the Apple App Store). We never see or store your card details.
  • We use RevenueCat, a third-party subscription/purchase-management service, to confirm your purchase and keep premium content unlocked across app restarts and, if you sign in with the same store account, other devices. RevenueCat receives an app-generated anonymous user ID, purchase/transaction details, and basic technical data (such as a device identifier and IP address) — only as needed to verify entitlement.   • This data is used only to unlock premium content. It is never used for advertising, profiling, or sold to third parties.
  • If you never buy premium, none of this data is generated.

Compliance

The app is designed to comply with:

  • COPPA (Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, USA)
  • LGPD (General Data Protection Law, Brazil)
  • GDPR-K (children’s protections under the GDPR, European Union)

Outside of the premium purchase flow described above, we collect no personal data, so those laws’ obligations regarding collection, processing, storage, and transmission of personal data do not apply to the free app experience. For the premium purchase flow, our legal basis for the limited data described above is performance of the purchase contract you (or your child’s guardian) initiate.

Device permissions

The app may request access to the speaker to play audio. We do not ask for the microphone, camera, contacts, location, photos, social networks, or any other data source.

Internet connection

The free app experience does not need the internet to work. When connected, the internet may be used to: open the music / sound effect credit links and the online version of this document (both gated behind an adult verification challenge); and, only if you choose to buy premium, process the purchase and verify your entitlement through Google Play Billing and RevenueCat.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the version inside the app. The date at the top of this document always shows the last update.
